- How much of the sale price of my vehicle will go to the charity I choose from the list?
The full net proceeds, determined after deduction for direct and indirect expenses allocable to the sale, will be turned over to the charity you select. A minimum of 65% of the sale price is turned over to the charity! The net proceeds will be used exclusively for charitable purposes and will not be used for the private benefit of any donor.
- How will the new tax law changes effect my tax deduction?
Vehicle donors are still eligible for a tax deduction on their itemized federal tax return! Donors are eligible for a deduction of up to $500 or the amount their vehicle sells for over $500. Cars4Charities is now selling many donated vehicles at public auctions to increase the selling price thus maximizing the tax deduction for donors.

- What types of vehicles are accepted?
We accept many vehicles, whether running or not! To find out if your vehicle is acceptable, just complete the Donate Car form. Completing the Donate Car form does not obligate you to donate your vehicle! You will receive a return email within 24 hours of completing the form.
- My vehicle is not listed, so what should I do?
If your vehicle isn't listed, please contact us and provide us with some information about your vehicle.
- Are there other restrictions?
Yes. You must have either a title or transferable registration for the vehicle and the keys for it. In addition, your vehicle cannot have any parts missing, including the battery and all of the tires have to be inflated. Also, your vehicle must be in a place where a large tow truck can easily get to it.
- What if I cannot find the title?
If you cannot locate your title, please obtain a duplicate title from your local Department of Motor Vehicles.
- How long will it take for my car to be picked up?
Generally, it takes 2-5 business days from the date we receive your title for the vehicle to be picked up. The towing service will call you in advance to make the arrangements.
- Do I need to be present for the pickup?
If your vehicle is parked on the street, someone will need to be present when the towing service arrives. You do not have to be present if your car is parked in your driveway and it is in a position where a large tow truck can easily get to it. In this case, you will need to tell the towing service where you are leaving the keys. Do not send the keys with your title!
